 ABOUT CININTEL 2000

"... the excellent Cinintel 2000 organization, with no doubts in its best issue. The information exchange among all the people and companies from this important industry segment, specially those who attended the Congress (which is already an international reference) was highly valuable for us."

Edu de Moraes Machado Marketing & Sales Manager - Lucent-Inepar

OVERVIEW

Cinintel 2000 was a Conference held in Florianopolis / SC, Brazil from Nov.20-24, 20080. The acronym CININTEL stands for Congresso Internacional de Infra-estrutura para Telecomunicaçoes, this translates from Portuguese as International Congress for Infrastructure in Telecommunications and it was the third issue of the conference in Brazil.

It attracted 400 delegates from eight countries (Argentina, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, Sweden and USA) and also from fifteen Brazilian States. Over two thirds of the participants were connected to the telecommunication industry or related services, but there were also representatives from academia and research institutes. During the conference some fifty-two papers were presented and a number of short-courses and workshops were held simultaneously. The attendance at the Sessions was consistently very high, showing the great interest of this largely technical audience.

The overall atmosphere of the conference was one of friendly intimacy and the tropical beach surroundings of the Costão do Santinho Resort were it was held made for a relaxed and enjoyable experience for all present. Most of the papers were delivered in Portuguese, but the simultaneous translation service, as well as all other support services were excellent.

This Southern Hemisphere version of the INTELEC conferences deserves to be a permanent addition to the variety of Conferences now being held throughout the World. It addresses very specific areas of concern in the field of telecommunications and power supply in an area were such concerns are vital for proper development.
